Chastisement, wise discipline, painful trails, loss, storms, testings and blessings galore.. our Heavenly Father allows some of these at times. Believer, you were born to overcome and live free from idols!

Idolatry isn’t worth your time today, though many Americans still feel it is. Not on any day of the week is it.

Believer, it really isn’t worth your allegiance ever! Married couple, it ain't worth it for you, for your family.

A marriage committed to any idol -- i.e., worship of materialism, or towards each other, having your loved one first is no good.. or to the American dream i.e., living for that big home, or property, or towards a career, a hobby, money, drinks or drugs, or towards some lover etc.

Listen, it won't be fulfilling for you! Idolatry will never satisfy you or glorify God!

Think about it. God has much better things for you. He never created you so that your life will be built on shifting sand.

black storm clouds over boats moored at beach

No need for the destruction from one or two storms of life! Don't build your house on the sand.

And he never thought up.. invented marriage so that it’ll be built on shifting sand. Build your life upon the rock, Christ Jesus instead.

He wants you, all of you, all of her. Yes, God wants your spouse too ..to build her life on the Rock. Build your life upon Christ that trustworthy solid Rock.

Why does he want this firm foundation for us, your life built on his word? To properly establish and bless our socks off. Yes to bless you, and to bless your kids too.

It’s so that married people can go the distance his way in righteousness. It’s so that families can too..go the distance with Jesus as Lord, and endure all the horrific storms of life. Let's face it, they'll show up the storms will. We've got to prepare and be ready in advance.

Sure even in our day storms arrive.

Build on the Rock - Life, Hope & Truth

God wants to bring his people together in marriage when they can more glorify his Son together than apart. He does that to be glorified, so they will praise and exalt Christ wherever they go and work in harmony totally blessed together with His worldwide plan! His Great Commission is our mission.

I say.. Worship and witness for the Lord daily -- that's what a marriage is to be all about! Put him first.

Can I tell you of my parents Kim and Betty -- they will have been sober for more than 50 years (come this November 2020). They have served what many call drunks and druggies at AA in SoCal for a really long time now. Some have come to Christ and been freed.

And my parents have been married now for over sixty years to each other, wasn't always a cakewalk for em, but they can tell you that the idol of alcohol almost ripped them off completely.

Many let it reduce them to rags, poverty -- to the streets and filthy gutters. For many to stormy-destruction. But you, build your life upon the Rock -- the Christ Jesus of the Bible.

Repentance and biblical faith in Jesus -- those are such good things for us all. Saving faith is the best kind of faith and regeneration is still God's greatest miracle he does!

Grateful for my parents. God gets the credit -- all the glory for my parents and for me too. I remember repenting of my own party life in the Spring of '77. And I remember praying for them daily.

I remember witnessing to my dad in late 70s too, and then he turned and trusted Christ at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (they played the movie Distant Thunder and  Jimmy Kempner gave a simple Bible altar call). Dad responded to Christ there. And Christ has continued to help him to this very day, even with some loss of memory (they are in their mid 80s now).

I feel so SO grateful for Jesus’, so merciful and gracious is he! Still is.

Billy Graham Quote: “Any other foundation will fail, but Christ is a sure and steady rock to build your life on.” (10 wallpapers) - Quotefancy

I remember how the children of Israel would have severe problems; getting judged by the Lord for their disobedience. You remember too right? ..how they would then turn and cry out to God in sincere prayer. And then God would deliver them and bless them once again. But after a while they would forget him or overly focus on their blessings. They’d forget God and worship idols (life from other nations around them) all over again, thus bringing upon themselves God’s judgement again? Why don’t we believers learn so well? That was truly a viscous cycle for them!

We all need to remind.. yes, and to remember that Old Testament Israelite Bible pattern to learn from: God delights to blessed his people. Always has -- he loves us. They gradually.. slowly they would grow distracted and proud. They went off into idolatry, and then God allowed the pain to come their way often via enemies. His judgement can get our attention if we’re still living. So the Jews prayed, yes, they humbly prayed earnestly some more.

They humbled themself worshiping God only. It’s only right. So God delivered them, God blessed them. History shows us how it all repeated, but we today can learn. Questions for ya. Do you need his deliverance today?

Have you humbly prayed to him in Jesus’ name (that’s his Son)? Was it always idols connected to that pain?.. is it that way for us believers.. or just trials to get our attention again.

Trials allowed to keep us from getting proud and hardhearted, and sinful. Allowed to keep us from going off into full tilt idolatry?

What idols take up your heart’s love, your attention and your time today? What do you think about most, do most gladly, and talk about the most? Felt ticked before at God or man? I have. Yeah, I have felt mad at God at times for allowing such pain and loss -- how could he allow such unfair treatment to us (towards my sweet wife Liney and I) this getting ripped off over and over again? Not always, but it’s happened.

Storms happen here. Like with people's career, with a church ministry, with home and some kids etc. My wife has had some trials at her work before.

The expectations of future blessings for Liney were long built up in her mind by lame middle management where she worked so hard. They let her down where top management (that were very busy and so blind to what middle managers did to discourage workers of all departments there) for years said she was the very best worker in her department. That's how it goes for sold out Christians in many workplaces in this fallen world. They often get passed over, and ill treated. Forgive them and walk with Jesus.

Sure, we’ve had a whole lot of blessings mixed in with trails..with people burning us for years, but that's part of kinda normal Christianity for us Christians until the Rapture. Sometimes there are wise things you can do, and at others times.. not so much.

Check it out in history. Religious people in the world and lost kids of the world have caused problems for many.. and they often will burn Christians over and over again today too. Sinners sin cuz they're sinners -- it's their nature to. All need a new nature inside.

You can't expect (as you have perhaps done before..) that things will always go good, favorable or fairly for you here, believer.

Think about the early Church believers and how they were burned. It happened. It’s been happening in our day as well. They didn't expect to get treated any better than they were treated by the lost people of back of that day.

I’m blessed. I know I certainly don't deserve my dear wife, my decent parents for so many years of my life, my sweet grandkids, my nice house, or my income. God keeps blessing me with far more than I deserve. Felt ticked.. felt mad at God at times though, I admit it (have even to him).. for allowing so many trails.

So much pain and unfair treatment from religious and arrogant people towards us, but now I thank and praise you Jesus. What you do is for a purpose. Help us all remain faithful to you.

I had to repent and see him as he really is. Loyal, kind and good.

Wanna remember...

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].”

At the heart of Saul’s revenge, bitterness and anger (his spiritually depraved condition) was foolish, close friends, a strange spirit to oppress him (due to his rejecting the Lord’s authority) and the fact that something that was valuable to him was lost.. or yes taken away.

His position of power meant more to him than righteousness. He lived for the applause of the masses, but they were singing their love songs to David? Have you lost something too? Has something been taken away from you—a dream, personal investments, possessions, the physical health and beauty of youth, a cherished relationship, a career, a ministry?

Long ago, I was going to marry this one girl but she bailed for more money and a red sports car offered from her adulterer dad who wanted her to ditch me and stay in college. He pressured her. Now I praise God for that -- God knew better for me, what I really needed. I was all ready to go be a missionary after 12 years of preparation, but then all my raised support fell through due to more than one TV evangelist scandal that broke.

Liney and I were paid real well working in and pastoring in an another..a second 11,000 member Dallas mega-church, but then I taught the Bible truth that no real Christian could have a demon inside him/her and we were then fired because others there believed otherwise. It was at least a two year trail for us. We were isolated, pressured, harassed, but stayed loyal to God and his Essentials. Have you ever been ousted for telling the truth or due to cruel, political nepotism? Do you ask yourself:

How could a God who really loves me allow bad things to happen in my life -- how could he allow this to happen? In the 70s how could he take something away from me that was so very dear to me? Was it due to some of my own foolish choices as well?

Did I unwittingly make an idol out of my Christian soon to be wife? Not sure. I mean that brought back the loneliness of my singleness. We live in a sin-cursed world. Adam and Eve fell in the garden and this has impacted us who have also sinned. All of creation here has suffered cuz of our falling. Our sins put Jesus up on that Cross. You know he’s 100% alive and can help us today. Live forgiven and idol-free. Ask.

May I ask you? What has God allowed in into your life, believer? Blessings, or challenges. cancer, or a time of poverty, or a rejection, or a job loss? Lost people have troubles that world against them, but we Christians experience trails the whole way through.. that work for us as we turn to Jesus in them. Romans 8-28-29 is still in the Bible. Hey Christian, we all sin though we try our best to avoid sinning. The lost, don’t avoid it all, but Jesus can forgive any of us. We all need him. Was it due to my sin that removed the blessings? Whatever it was? May I ask you: Do you love God most, worship him only.. or serve him for what He can give to you—you know.. more blessings?

Please carry an optimistic, pure, upbeat spirit in his Holy Spirit, regardless of the trials, loss, or pains. Regardless of how challenging the circumstances of life now are for you. I cannot explain it, but that makes real success more certain as you pray, seek, worship and remain faithful to Jesus Christ. Stay more focused on the Blesser rather than on his blessings or on the distractions of life. No time for distractions, hard hearts, idols or lame excuses.

Trials come to test us, will you pass the exam? In school the teacher often remains silent during testing time. God wants to know the answer to that question? Who or what do you really live for at this time? What’s your idol. What do you currently prioritize ahead of your heavenly Father, his Spirit and Christ Jesus your Lord? Then why aren't you regularly in a decent, healthy, Bible teaching Christ-honoring-church? Why haven’t you sought for one, for fellowship’s sake? Until you found one? Or have you?

What’s your master-passion in life? Only Jesus can fill up that empty void so to speak inside your heart. Nothing else satisfies us. Live for the Blesser rather than for His good blessings! Good things can become bad for us if we put them before the best thing -- that relationship with God through Christ. Are you like.. Have you been acting like Saul or like David who lost a whole lot while on the run from that creepy religious murderer of a leader that he used to look up to?

Will you backslide after the pain of rejection..or after suffering the loss of something or of someone you just love? Can you say like Job:

Give thanks with a grateful heart. Give thanks to the holy One because he’s given Jesus Christ his Son. Give thanks from the heart. Let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich because of what the Lord has done for me.. for us. Give and take away.. yep, he gives and takes away what is in the way. He meets needs and yet that’s what life seem

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

Go on with God, move forward in his Spirit. Yes, walk in close fellowship with Christ ..and with spiritual Christians as close friends.. in connection with a healthy Bible teaching, soul-winning church that is led by a spiritually mature born again pastor with the right doctrine (keeping the main things the main things) and with a right spirit. You know a pastor with a shepherd’s heart  -- one who consistently practices what he preaches the word!

"To see Your lovely face

Ever before my eyes,

This is my prayer,

Make it my strong desire.

That in my secret heart

no rival love competes,

Yes, no rival throne survives,

And I serve only You."

(Sung on Sundays by my pastor Chuck Smith Sr.)

Ask God to use you again. He will. You watch, you wait, you’ll see. His great love for you hasn’t at all dissipated or gone away.

“We say little about the idols but hold up Christ crucified. He will draw them away from these vanities… Oh that we may walk humbly before Him, for we have never seen His power on this wise before.”

I remember seeing Keith Green say: Do you know who the Christian idols are? I happen to be one of them. So is Andrae Crouch, Evie and B.J. Thomas. You can even idolize your pastor. They don’t want to be idolized, they never asked for it. Remember that applause you gave me when I walked out? I didn’t hear you applaud the Lord like that anytime today.. We’re more excited about a Second Chapter of Acts concert than we are about the Second Coming! SIN!”

Remember the "Show Me the Way Lyrics" by that band called Styx?

Billy Graham used this song to win some sinners: "Every night I say a prayer in the hope that there’s a heaven And every day I’m more confused as the saints turn into sinners All the heroes and legends I knew as a child have fallen to idols of clay And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that I’ve lost my faith."

We kids are so loved. We have loving chastisement some, trails and discipline too.. from our caring Father. Think it not strange. We were born to live free.

I'm out to change my world. Might be a little bit, might even be a lot. What matters is that God'll do his work and He gets all worship and credit. Really don't wanna get in his way. Just want to cooperate with his Spirit today. Listen, God still uses commoners -- simple ordinary folk like us. It’s a privilege to enjoy!

Ever hear an effervescent spontaneous Christian witness to a friend? It's beautiful.

Ever hear a person named Ann Kiemel share her faith with a total stranger, or with a neighbor on her street? Man, the Message of the Gospel changes lives! God does it.

The Lord used her ..where she traveled and it was on Purpose. He has a good soul-winning purpose for your life as well.

She loved the word impossible. And through Christ, nothing was impossible for her -- nothing is for you, believer.

With your own personality, there is a way to witness in the Spirit that only you can do. You're unique, valuable and special! Nobody else can minister like you together with the Lord.. can do!

Jesus said, “Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks” Matthew 12:34

Today, I too believe in walking close with, and in sharing Christ.. simply with those in my neighborhood and with the world at large. Can any of us do that perfectly? Nope. Don't need to.

I too want to travel on purpose with his Message of hope (the Gospel)..even if it's across the street.

I love to speak the powerful name of Jesus every day. Where he leads, you can too.. like in prayer, in share, in real care.. anywhere! To someone in need.

Yes! You there.. can build a bond with the mail carrier, or with the man or lady next door, or with individuals at your grocery store, pharmacy, or at the bank.

Every day you can look for opportunities to practically serve, to sing, and to share. Inquire of the Lord. God will show you different and new ways to love people to Jesus Christ.

Yes, to show his love to them in this world gone astray. In this world of riots that has been growing more unloving.. and to speak His beautiful name.

Let no one who passes your way today.. not encounter his love or an uplifting word that agrees with his Word.

They are ignored, rejected, passed by or over. They are neglected too often in this world, but they need a warm smile, a touch on the arm, an ear.

On an ordinary Monday in an ordinary town on an ordinary hard day, God can use you to be his rep.. to live like Jesus did. To minister to the heart of some broken individual. They'll never be the same again. You watch, you wait (on him), you'll see. Love with truth can make a difference!

It is not really hard and you don't need to know it all to start.

You don't need to have the whole Bible memorized. You don't need any seniority. You don't need a seminary or Bible college degree.

God gives fresh ideas, and over the top all the way up to the edge kinda humor, good humor! Yes, he has a sense of humor! He gives us tender yet natural responses.

Our time here is limited, our time with strangers and friends is more limited.

I pray that you will never forget HOW MUCH those in the world need Jesus. How much he loves you and them! God will use you if you remember and ask him to.

It is NOT complicated, it's not religious, pushy or preachy, it's not verklempt and stiff at all.

It is seeing everyone around us with the eyes of Christ. Sure, he sees you and them today.

I love all of you. Be encouraged in the word. God loves you even more so. He's there for you, will take the time to listen. Won't bail out or ditch you, believer. Won't leave, quit, reject or forsake you.

It's not about you. It's not and never been about me, or about Ann, or about any of us here.. it's about Christ and his good plan.

Hey, I'm one ordinary surfer dude with a great big wonderful God inside of me and we together are out to change the world with love. His love, and you know how everyone is looking for Love. They try all kinds of things, and pay big money sometimes trying to find it.

But God's Loves, Message and Salvation are free. He'll forgiven anyone living anywhere.

Please join hands with me older person, middle aged, or younger teenage person. Turn, trust.. join hands with me today and believe. We can change the world!

"Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth."

God delights to use ordinary peeps.

Have you ever felt like, ‘Hey, I’m just too old and broken to be used by God.. to do something to glorify the Lord.’ If so, you're not really alone, but he can give you new JOY, a buoyant, jubilant, infectious faith to tactfully share. Yes, he can do it!

Noah was over six hundred years old when he exited that wooden waterlogged ark, but God used him to re-start the entire human race all over again. If you’re older, think about it this way: you’re a walking repository of decades of wisdom and knowledge. So, before you leave this earth, endeavor to give to others what God has entrusted to you. Right now, somebody, somewhere, needs something you have, and if you ask God, He will show you who they are. When He does – listen closely, hear, pray and get involved!

“Remember.. few of you were wise in the world’s eyes.. when God called you.” 1 Corinthians 1:26

“God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise." 1 Corinthians 1:27
Would you pray something like this.. Dear Loving Father, thanks for making me. You know very well that I am but dust. A thousand or something like that times.. I've failed you, let you down, but I still want to know you and subsequently make you known. Give boldness, on-fire zeal, wisdom, a burden for people, passion and tact. Nothing is impossible with you. You've called me into your Kingdom to serve you at this specific place, at this specific time, for a very specific purpose. Now help me understand that better. Help me see and feel your perspective and heart. Despite my ordinariness, my commonness I am yours. I belong to you—and you are not ordinary, but greater than all! Refill me -- fill my sails. Help me pour out your grace and compassion among others so that they, too, may experience the richness of your agape love. Through me, my Father, one by one.. show others how you can use an ordinary life to bring extraordinary blessing and restoration into this world of hurt and brokenness. Thanks for the years, the lessons and moments with you. Please help me see that no matter the age, these are gifts.. to inspire me in giving away what you have freely given. That mercy, grace and Message of abundant eternal life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen. Fish4souls.org

“Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you're not saved yourself, be sure of that!” ― Charles Spurgeon

“One thing I have observed in all my years of ministry is that the most effective and important aspects of evangelism usually take place on an individual, personal level. Most people do not come to Christ as an immediate response to a sermon they hear in a crowded setting. They come to Christ because of the influence of an individual.” – John MacArthur

“Evangelism has always been the heartbeat for our ministry; it is what God has called us to do.” – Billy Graham

Maturing missionary or mission field, which be you?

Joyous Christians in the Bible were also spontaneous. They expressed great concern for individuals. Were honest about their failures and victories -- authentic.

Paul began with the Old Testament and his life.. when he was speaking to the Jews, but when he spoke to a group of Greeks in Athens (see Acts 17) he began by quoting their own sayings. He entered their world short of sin to build a bridge, not to burn a bridge.

As he wrote to the Corinthians, “To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews.. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law.. so as to win those not having the law” 1 Corinthians 9:20-21

In order for it to be biblical evangelism, the Gospel must be clearly communicated, whether in written or oral form. Share the truth in love. Facebook.com/shareJesus .. SeeNations.tumblr.com .. Urbaane.tumblr.com

Is heaven your goal? Hope so. Hell really wasn't made for you or for other people. It was made for rebellious fallen angels. People send themselves there. Opt not to go there. I want Heaven and one day it'll come down on earth. They will become one and the same. Jesus is the only way in

Is hell real? Is there any evidence that it exists? What does the Bible say about hell?
Is hell in the center of the earth? Is hell somewhere in outer space?
What happens after death? Is there life after death? Is hell real? Is hell eternal?
Does the Bible give a description of hell?
Will unbelievers truly suffer in hell forever (hellfire)?
How can I not go to hell? How can I escape from the eternal fate of hell?

Up, gaze and countenance up not down, butter cup!

Hey American, chin up, be encouraged in the Lord. He hasn’t fallen off the throne or been surprised.

Everything remains on track. He keeps all his promises and Bible prophecy will be fulfilled. So many have been with 100 percent accuracy. His plan will prevail despite the proclamations of pundits and the lying media.

We live in the greatest nation on the face of the earth. We are the people of that nation, with boundless opportunities most of the world can only dream of.  Our opposition has nothing but false witness, fear and lies.  Push back on their lies, they are exposed as weak and shallow.

We are American believers, not better than, but better off and others here can be better off.
Those evil and violent people who are working against our nation’s interests seem to ..at times.. be thriving in an atmosphere of despair and disenfranchisement. Do not give in to them, or live a spiritually compromised life. Walk with the Lord in victory today.

Carry an optimistic upbeat spirit in his Holy Spirit, regardless of how challenging the circumstances now are. I cannot explain it, but that makes real success more certain. Stay more focused on the Blesser rather than on the blessings or distractions of life. No time for idols or excuses.

Do not help sinners keep sinning like a codependent would do. Don’t fuel evil opposition with the power of fear.

Think and talk clean...edifying.

Stay if fellowship both upwards and with growing believers. There are healthy churches led by healthy pastors out there -- find your place and help em. Live strong like them, balanced, and finish strong too. Go the distance with Jesus, not out ahead of him in presumption, or lagging behind. With him is better..listening, gettin' honest with. He said he'd meet all your needs. Why look even half to the world or to the worldly people to meet your needs? No, you want to live on-fire with the proper passion inside!

Be strong right now; choose to seek, to sow to the Spirit and to grow. Be joyous, yes, way happy with Jesus as Lord right now. He rejoices over you with singing!

Take the appropriate action, you are greatly valued. Do not give in, do not give evil elements an inch of space within your heart.  Advance, take territory today. Let’s take back this country. Not as puffed up know-it-alls, but expect and demand real accountability. Do not worry about being perceived as a jerk about it.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

God said that and he will help you (let him), he can empower you, can equip you, can fully enable you to be doers of his word wisely.

Fight like men.. men.. not in the flesh, but primarily on your knees in prayer. Act like men.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.“ 1 Corinthians 16:13

Quit listening to those who say “can’t” and “won’t” and simply do your part. You still have a part to play so to speak. Let’s grow and advance.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

If some feel overly comfortable passively sitting in their socially distant box while only complaining about all things that are not right here, or might be not be right.. or, if they prefer to allow themselves to be overcome with dark imaginings simply because what cannot be done is more comfortable than the effort to oversee what needs to be done… well, that ain’t my business.

They can do that if they choose. And when they are done doing that they’ll still be in the same place.

Why go backwards, when we can go forwards in love? Give God all the glory, spend some time with him daily. We’ll trust and obey him well, if we know him well. If we spend time with Jesus. I challenge you if I may...

Be real, be a good example, some people are watching you. Witness biblically by life, by clear communication, by life, by deed and yes, with true words. Boldly.. tactfully too. Show respect to all people, be gentle, discerning and kind.

Protect people out of love. Many won't. They just stand there and won't get involved. Brave Jesus can make us brave as our day calls for.

Separate yourself from this world’s corrupt system and from those who keep pulling you down. Limit your time with the worldly, with the carnally minded, and with the lukewarm spiritually. That'll help more than just you.

When they start to pull you on down, just politely get away from them.

Live on the right side of history no matter how many choose to come down on the wrong side of history. Yes, in the will of God for you. He still loves you and has a good plan...for you. Yes you, he won't forget about you or forsake you. Bible truth cannot be avoided. Fish4souls.org

Perhaps you've felt fed up with or sick of all this social distancing and sheltering at home? But there are some enjoyable and edifying things we all can do.

May I ask.. How often have you felt a desire to become useable by God and then to be used of God in communicating his true Gospel Message?

Have you ever found yourself running here and there -- all about trying to seek and serve the Lord.. but wondered if your priorities were in the right order or if you are even accomplishing anything of eternal worth? We can so easily get too busy for Jesus -- I mean for time alone with Jesus. But let's become effective and fruitful in him.

In your much serving have you found yourself really frustrated like Martha got.. or stumbling or even blowing it in the flesh at times? And then were wondering why it happened? How can we say we really know someone, a Friend we no longer spend any time with? Hey, social distancing can be real good for us and for God's Kingdom.
- For 3 yrs Paul in Arabia social distanced himself.
- Jesus also did that fasting for 40 days 40 nights.
- John did on the island of Patmos.
"I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev. 1:9
- Elijah the man of God did too. The word of the Lord told him to go "Hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan." 1 Kings 17:3
There were others too and I will soon get to them. I love how the Bible is honest and shows us them, but this word hide in the text here means to come apart to take in before giving out, means to be absent, not like hiding in fear or due to your guilt.

Do you need to come apart with the Lord before you come apart? Why should we social distance now?
1. For health on different levels. Yes, God loves and has a good plan for us.
2. God has a good promise for us. He promised to provide for Elijah in the middle of the will of God. See vs. 4-6.
3. God has a good prerequisite for us. It's called obedience to the word. why is it easier to obey Christ? Cuz we know and trust him. It's daily so easy to trust Christ if we spend some time alone with him cuz we'll really know him.
4. God has a good provision for us. the ravens (an unclean bird) brought him bread and meat in the morning and evening time and he drank from the brook (..until it dried up). vss. 6-7.
5. God has a good purpose for us. He guided him to Zerephath after that brook dried up. It was a test of his heart.
Focus on and choose to trust the Blesser instead of the blessing from him.

Luke 12:24 NKJV — “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?"

1 John 5:2 — "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments."

1 John 5:3 — "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."

John the baptizer lived a separated life unto the Lord and God chose to use him as a voice to his generation. And he can use you as well.

GOD WANTS TO MAKE YOU HIS VOICE BUT YOU'VE GOT TO MAKE THE CHOICE!

Time alone with God helps a lot! Let the Spirit lead you.

Separation will bring you to Illumination of the word, which will lead you to clear Proclamation of truth, which will produce a ministry Manifestation in this world, and yes that will involve Evangelization!

The Bible in Matthew 3:1-12 says “In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea [in that region to the immediate west of the Dead Sea], and saying, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!'” John knew the ultimate Solution to their needs and that turn and trust part was and still is so important.

What can we muse over regarding the Social Distancing?
  • John points them to Jesus, not self! He must increase, I must decrease.
  • Keep in mind -- there had been no prophet of God heard in the Land during the 400 silent yrs!
  • And 30 years had passed since events in Matthew 2.
  • The Weusts says: “Be having a change of mind which issues in regret and a change of conduct.
  • Why does the Bible (Isa) say: Voice? Cause dead gods don‘t speak thru people. (that word ‘VOICE‘ appears 456 times in the Bible KJV)
  • People won‘t walk across the street to hear a sermon. A sermon tells you what God and Religious people said for a different situation,
  • A voice tells you what God is currently saying for your situation.
  • An Echo is selfishly ambitious when you think about it.
  • But who made the paths crooked?  The religionists did that.. making it complicated for people to come to God. They say it's by works, or by works plus grace. And they still do that today. Tell em the Way to God is through Jesus who made it simple for us. Jesus said, My yoke is easy. But the way of sin and Satan is crooked and the way of the transgressor is hard!
  • Jesus preached- 4:17 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”
  • Disciples- Mk. 6:12 “And they went out and preached that men should repent.” (10:7 The kingdom of heaven is at hand).
  • John was a stopable-man that had an unstoppable Message! The Word burned in his heart. He basically had holy heartburn. The Bible teaches that there are only three spiritual temperatures with us humans.. boiling hot, icy cold, or lukewarm. Are you on-fire walking in Christ today?
  • Preaching the Gospel of repentance and faith is still the primary means that God uses to save people. And John was accurate with his message.
  • The Lord in Romans 10:17 says “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the (Rehma) word of God). Yes, of course faith comes after true repentance!
  • He was a stopable-man that had an unstoppable Message! The Word burned in his heart (had holy heartburn. Bible says there are only three spiritual temperatures boiling hot, Icy cold, lukewarm).
  • John was not intimidated or afraid of anyone. He was a road builder and an ax-man—one who got to the very root of sin to expose and deal with it for their benefit.
  • Some people heard the message and confessed their sins, others just grew hard-hearted. You know how God gets to the very root of our lives (it's imperative vs. 10), for the root determines the fruit. (v. 8).
  • So Why be a Voice in our day?:
  • There are 1 million more lost people on earth today than last Sunday.
  • And next Sunday there will be 2 million more lost people on earth.
  • Did you know there are 25 lines around the globe (1 sq ft per sinner in line), and it's growing 30 miles a day.
  • According to my figures 3.884 MILLION people are making their way to hell today!
  • If there were no more people born in the whole world, and if Christians went to work winning the lost at the same current rate we have been winning them, it would take 4000 thousand years.
  • Billy Graham estimates that “70% of those who go to Church are Lost!”
  • Ray Comfort says that 80% of those responding to the Gospel and accepting Christ go and "backslide." (Includes evangelism in local churches to large crusades).
  • He said, More Christian teens watch MTV than non-Christian teens.
  • A confidential survey in Christianity Today among 300 pastors, found that nearly 1 in 4 admitted that he had been involved is some sort of sexual sin.
  • Muse on this.. 1 out of 4 Americans who say that they are "born again" think that Jesus sinned while He was on earth.
  • Did you know that 1 in 5 women who kill their children through abortion say that they are "born again," evangelical Christians. That's horrific!
  • The Father wants to do things to you, so that Jesus can do things in you, so the Holy Spirit can do things through you.
  • But the number one reason why people refuse to, just won’t become a voice—they don’t care.
  • SEPARATION unto God is important. And I'm not talking about isolation because that wouldn't be good for any person.
  • The Bible says in Luke 1:80, "So the child (John) grew and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel."
  • He was in out-of-the-way, in non-desirable places with God for much of his life.
  • The religious affiliates (prob) wouldn’t let him rent a building in the city-ctr. Low overhead.
  • Joseph spent 2 years in jail and was forgotten.
  • Moses spent 40 years in the desert.
  • Mr. Steven D Eyre said, “Solitude was a constant part of Moses’ life. His first encounter with God at the burning bush was one of solitude [and separation]. Alone, Moses saw the bush and heard the voice. When he received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai, he spent forty days alone with God.”
  • King David, was a fugitive from age (16 or 17) and then for 30 years from following. He wrote a few Psalms during this time.
  • Again, Elijah social distanced himself. Remember when he said it wouldn’t rain on earth, and after that lived in obscurity by the Brook Cherith (1 kings 17:2-ravens fed & it dried up) and then he went to Zarephath.
  • Paul--in the Arabian desert for some 16 yrs. Gal 1:17
  • Jesus also went into the desert and returned in the power of the Spirit. His whole life--He was in the world but not of it.
  • SEPARATE, SEPARATED, SEPARATION--APPEARS 83 times in the Bible (KJV)
  • I don't mean we are to be separated from fellowship or from Sinners, but from evil and from sin. Jesus was and is a friend of sinners! He spent some time with them, winning them to saving faith.
  • The Bible commands us in 2 Corinthians 6:17 "Come out from among them And be separate says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you."  Fish4souls.org
