Like any relationship in your life.. in our lives, we simply need to spend some time with God daily. You know what I mean.. talkin’ to Him, hearing His words, and obeying Him. That’s the way of blessing really.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.“ 1 John 5:14
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Ephesians 6:18
Daily choose to walk in victory. Rise above the circumstances of life. You know, above all the temptations, the trials, the testings and the worldly troubles of this world and of the flesh ..via prayer. Look away to Jesus -- yes, have faith in God.
What other God are you going to turn to out there -- there are none. Zero. No matter what those in the world tell you, you and I..we just don't make good Gods at all.
How can you have a best friend that you are too busy to spend some time with? Want a best Friend, be a best friend.
This conversation with God is called prayer. Prayer is not a certain formula or special words, but simply talking with God. Jesus exampled it. He even gave us a model prayer in Matthew 6: 9-13. Ever checked it out? It has 4 main parts (ACTS):
Adoration - Take time to praise and worship God. The more you focus on God's power, and not your problems, the more faith and peace you will have. I can't tell you how many times I have experienced this!Ask yourself.. what do you need God's help with right now? What do your friends and loved ones need help with?
Confession - "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness". (1 John 1: 9) God does not want sin to become a wall between us.
Thanksgiving - When God forgives your sins, it gives you a lot to be thankful for! And what else do you have to thank Him for? Let Him know how much you appreciate all the good things He has given you.
Supplication - Just like a good parent wants to provide for his child, Jesus said, "How much more will your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him!" Of course, God knows all things so we do not need to tell Him what we need. But when we come to Him we express our need and trust in Him to help us. He promises He will always help when we ask.
Take a moment just to pause and talk it through with Him.. tell God all about it like you would to your best Friend (cuz that’s who He really is).
You can do this. Go ahead and practice the 4 prayer points that Jesus taught. This is obeying His call to prayer and will basically release God's peace in your life. God communicates with us primarily through His word, the Bible. So.. ask him for a love for this great Book. Read His word, asking the Holy Spirit to fill you, to reveal His truth and to use you. Guess what. He will speak to you and help you rep Him well wherever he leads you. It’s cuz He loves you, loves others and enjoys blessing His kids. Facebook.com/shareJesus
