Example Instead Of Exception?

Liney and I are now back in Dallas again ..all sunburned and looking forward to some fellowship with friends here. We had a good restful time in Florida and in Mexico. Met some wonderful locals in every port of call.

We missed ya though and hope that you are blessed and well. What's been goin' on other than ice and snow in the States this week? The weather is nippy but very clear and sunny here in Dallas today.

Perhaps you saw a few of my quickie vacation photos that I emailed to my pix-blog (..or would like to)? Here's a devo that I did while on the ship in the Gulf. I pray and hope that it will really encourage you in your Christian walk!

Choose To Be A Humble Example Rather Than An Uber-privileged Exception

"And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the Lord began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and all this continued until the burnt offering was finished."  ~2 Chronicles 26:27-28, nlt

I really like the good example I read about of young Hezekiah, don't you?

Today, during a time when lead politicians and church leaders are voluntarily losing their credibility through constant lies and bribery to get what they (not the Lord or the people) want ..and subsequently they lose the trust of their constituents.. this topic of being a good example when the people are watching or not.. is so very important! Yes, fishers maintaining long-term godly character, victory and consistency in your witness ..that's radically imperative before a watching world these days. It's imperative when no mere human is watching as well, for God always sees. How can any of us sufficiently talk about this stuff enough?
