What type have you heard? Talkin' about Preachin'.

Man, don't know 'bout you, but here in North Texas we’ve heard of every kind of preaching, both the good and bad:

- Biographical preaching- Expository preaching
- Textual preaching
- Topical preaching
- Antidotal preaching
- Evangelistic preaching
- Devotional preaching
- Longhorn preaching – (Yeah, it has two points and a whole lot of bull in-between. Who ever needs that? Nobody!).

Yeah, it's been that way. There too? I say, Simply share the Bible Message simply. What does the Bible say?

Paul to Tim (2 Timothy 3:15-4-5) encouraged, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (4:1) I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word.."
(Means: Go herald the word as His Rep, as an Imperial messenger); "be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires;"
(They’ll have an itch for novelty. Sounds like today huh. Remember how the people of Mars Hill were given to hearing new trendy things. But as the Apostle Paul preached Christ, he was SO RELEVANT there on Mars Hill because he kept it sound and he built a bridge rather than burned a bridge with the truth) "and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.'" Is it possible for any believer to fulfill their ministry while ignoring witnessing, soul-winning. I don't think so. #emph.mine

God by His mercy He puts us into His service. Believe your sound beliefs and doubt your doubts. Yeah, first He forgives us when we repent, and puts us into His Kingdom.
Are you a believer? I say, Sow to the Spirit, not to the flesh or to the world bro. #GoTell. People can have an assurance and be one hundred percent sure inside.
Have you felt rejected, or suffered some loss? You know there are three types of suffering. 1) There is common suffering (everybody knows about that), 2) There is carnal suffering (people bring that on themselves from their own sin. i.e., VD) and 3) There is Christian suffering (that sometimes comes our way from obeying God. Happens. Reminds me of persecution, testings and trials -- think it not strange).
Had some suffering? Sorry 'bout that! Let's obey the Lord anyways. May I ask? What would prevent you today...is there any good reason?.. from believing in the Lord right here and now? God says, Come let us reason together (in a context of discussing and ditching sin. We've all fallen short and blown it). Jesus said, Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden. Is that you? You can grow, help others to, and learn to go fishing for people too
If ya haven't yet, come to Christ today. Yes, just as you are. No excuses, don't put if off 'til later. Why live for the world, self or something else? This is the moment you can put your past behind you and have an new start.

Whenever a day arrives when I cannot stand up for truth and grace, and prayerfully submit to God in His good way, and resist those evil fallen angels that deceive, and simply preach God's Message without any anger at people..or without the challenge of some anxiety inside lest the hearers might not accept Christ... whenever a day comes when I can see men and women, girls and boys coming down the aisles without any joy in my heart, guess what.. I'll quit preaching. Man, so glad that day won't arrive. Turn and trust.. Him. Go tell. Like conversationally. Live unashamed daily, not at all embarrassed over the good Gospel. Preach the word.. ya don't have to do that all pushy or preachy!
This Bible verse reminds me of the song "That The World May Know" by Central Worship in Mt. Vernon!Post anything (from anywhere!), customize everything, and find and follow what you love. Create your own Tumblr blog today.
“It was strictly forbidden to preach to other prisoners. It was understood that whoever was caught doing this received a severe beating. A number of us decided to pay the price for the privilege of preaching, so we accepted their [the communists’] terms. It was a deal; we preached and they beat us. We were happy preaching. They were happy beating us, so everyone was happy.” ― Richard Wurmbrand
“The gospel is preached in the ears of all men; it only comes with power to some. The power that is in the gospel does not lie in the eloquence of the preacher otherwise men would be converters of souls. Nor does it lie in the preacher’s learning; otherwise it could consists of the wisdom of men. We might preach till our tongues rotted, till we should exhaust our lungs and die, but never a soul would be converted unless there were mysterious power going with it – the Holy Ghost changing the will of man. O Sirs! We might as well preach to stone walls as preach to humanity unless the Holy Ghost be with the word, to give it power to convert the soul.” ― Charles Spurgeon
“Give me 100 preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God; such alone will shake the gates of hell.” ― John Wesley
"There’s a way to preach the Bible unbiblically..You can use the Bible as the springboard for all kinds of ideas, can’t you? Look around in here and find something that fits your fancy and then launch a rocket off it. People say, ‘That was amazing, wasn’t it? Remarkable what he got out of that.’ Well of course it is because he put it in before he got it out.” ― Alistair Begg
“A man who first tried to guess 'what the public wants,’ and then preached that as Christianity because the public wants it, would be a pretty mixture of fool and knave” ― C.S. Lewis
“The backslider likes the preaching that wouldn’t hit the side of a house, while the real disciple is delighted when the truth brings him to his knees.” ― Billy Sunday
