Here are ten things to work on together. What successful spouses do, and avoid?
1 LOYAL SPOUSES pray in faith together.. looking to God to meet their needs -- all the needs. Opt daily to Be RESPECTFUL OF EACH OTHER BOTH IN PRIVATE face to face and in public. Do your best to meet each other's needs.
2 LOYAL SPOUSES USE THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA
IN POSITIVE AND UPLIFTING WAYS. Be edifying with the word. LOYAL SPOUSES STAND UP FOR EACH OTHER and for what's biblically right. Love always protects says 1st Corinthians 13.
3 LOYAL SPOUSES look out for the safety and health of their beloved.. but they APPROPRIATELY KEEP PRIVATE THINGS PRIVATE. Don't betray a confidence, there's no need for that. CALL FOR HELP WHEN THERE'S DANGER.
5 LOYAL SPOUSES KEEP THEIR INTERACTIONS WITH
MEMBERS OF THE OPPOSITE SEX PROFESSIONAL AND
100% APPROPRIATE.. and are in appropriate places only.
6 LOYAL SPOUSES leave their parents and family members..they leave and cleave. They inquire of the Lord as their main Leader, they talk things through and MAKE DECISIONS TOGETHER AS HUSBAND AND WIFE. (REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEIR PARENTS, SIBLINGS, NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS MIGHT THINK. HUSBANDS ARE TO BE THE SPIRITUAL LEADER AND THE WIFE IS TO BE THE SPIRITUAL CHALLENGE in the relationship as the Lord leads.
7 Each LOYAL SPOUSE is AN OPEN BOOK.. AS THEY regularly OPEN THE BOOK.. alone and WITH EACH OTHER.
8 LOYAL SPOUSES TURN TO THE LORD TOGETHER thank to praise to worship even when there are doterra needs.. AND they turn TO EACH OTHER as well. The Bible teaches us to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. See Matthew 6:33 and the context.
God keeps it simple for us. He only has two rules for marriage: Love and submit. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church and wives are to submit to their husbands ..as they both daily submit to the word. FYI I'm far from perfect but there have been many times when I submit it to my wife and I found her advice to have worked out well for the family.
9 LOYAL SPOUSES are each born of the spirit and sowing to the spirit in the word and prayer and fellowship and in witnessing. Yea, they PRACTICE MATTHEW 6:33 daily -- they PRIORITIZE God first on the vertical plane, and then their spouse above all ..on the horizontal plane. Your spouse is second guys.. ahead of your kids, work, hobbies and those friends in this world.
10. LOYAL SPOUSES GIVE HIGH PRIORITY TO THE GUARDING, EQUIPPING, SATISFYING, NURTURING and edification of THEIR MARRIAGE LOVER. And then to the meeting of prices on these switch there relatives. Ministry to those in the church and to those in the world comes after that.
Be the church at church, at work, in the marketplace (but out of bars).. and be the church at home too. Be out of a car, or in a house, or office.. and other places alone with others of the opposite sex. Don't even cross the celestial hold in with. Avoid all appearance of evil, places of temptation..and places of evil. You know where many of them are.
Be real, not religious. We don't need some exotic liver quiver or another herky-jerky sensational church experience, we all just need Jesus and His Message. Know Him well today, make him well known.. today. He will guide you together to a healthy Bible teaching Church.. that's led by a humble on-fire pastor and healthy elders who are spiritually minded. He will lead you out from that church weekly with JOY to a lost world of individuals needing what you have.
We import and then we export what He gives. Witnessing is the natural outgrowth from strength coming from our meaningful friendship with Jesus.
"Go ye therefore.." tell em clearly the whole counsel of God.. and about those real places..ie, that hell to avoid and Christ's heaven to gain. None can work their way in. Religion saves no one.
Tell em about biblical repentance and simple faith in terms that they can understand. Simply define the Bible terms. Show em how to apply..like turning and trusting. Cuz we've sinned; none haven't says the Bible
Remember, that very same power that was given to first century world-changers is also available to 21st-century Christians. Need a refill? Be refilled -- appropriate by faith.
Was said that ...the first-century church turned their world upside down (and I already was turned that way, but needed to be re-turned over) – and in this very crazy, topsy-turvy world where wrong is called "right" and right is called "wrong," we need to do the same as they did. We worship, we witness. Boldly.
