Has a friend, someone that you really love from say the Roman organization or another org told you that it’s believing in Jesus plus charitable WORKS that get ya in (puttin’ the emphasis on charitable works that are somehow meritorious and mandatory).
Naww, it’s believing in Jesus. Let's stick with the living Word and five Solas:
1. Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”): The Bible alone is our highest authority. It’s what we Christians go by for faith and practice. Our unity is around Jesus and Bible Essentials, nothing more. Not around non-essentials – we cut other believers some slack.
2. Sola Fide (“faith alone”): We are saved through faith alone.. in Jesus Christ alone.
3. Sola Gratia (“grace alone”): We are saved by the grace of God alone.. plus zip. Doing good works won’t save us – we can earn righteousness.
4. Solus Christus (“Christ alone”): Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King.. not really Mary as some queen. We don’t pray to her or to so called saints. She called Christ her Savior meaning she too is a sinner.
5. Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”): We live for the glory of God alone, not for ourselves or for another.
I’m sure your friend means well. Do continue to show them love and stick with what’s so.

The Bible says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians 2:8
It’s true that every word in the 66 books of the Bible are inspired by the Holy Spirit. They are God-breathed. The Holy Spirit of God can also help us to understand and obey Scripture. Where would we be without the promises of Scripture and wise application? I’d probably be in that show Cops.
I say we stick with Jesus. Our first-love is Christ, Colossians 1:15. And only through God’s gracious self-revelation in Jesus do we come to a saving and transforming knowledge of God. In a world of problems, He is our ultimate Solution.
See 1 Timothy 1:5… God is holy and all of us humans are sinful – sinners, 1 John 1:1 Hebrews 7:25 Romans 8:34. This world has only two kinds of people in it.. saved sinners and not yet saved sinners that I really want to repent and become saved sinners …growing in the word.. after we lovingly witness to them. Neither religious rituals nor good works do the job for anyone.. or mediate between us and a holy God. Christ is the only way. Acts 4:12 – yup there’s none other name by which a person can become saved ..other than the name of Jesus. He is our mediator and Priest – Hebrews 7:23. And his sacrificial death on the Cross alone can atone for sin.
Our chief goal is to give glory to God alone: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). As The Westminster Catechism says, the chief purpose of human life is “to glorify God and enjoy him forever.” Facebook.com/shareJesus
