Why do so many people own Bibles but so few actually read them? Did ya know that.. 93% of Americans own at least one Bible. True. And the average home in the USA has 4 Bibles. Let em not gather dust cuz that's not good for breathing or growth.

Walk in the SONshine. It's a choice. In the Lord, breathe the clean air, drink the pure milk of the word. Sure, pray and study what so. In Romans 7:15, Paul writes: I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it.Instead, I do what I hate.

Reading and living the Word is right and edifying. How can it change my life?

So.. What’s The Power of 4 Effect?

If a person engages, I mean prayerfully reads you know a pretty good chunk of their Bible four or more times per week.. guess what.. their odds of giving in to these temptations decreases. And how much? This much:

Drinking to excess -62%
Viewing pornography -59%
Having sex outside marriage -59%
Gambling -45%
Lashing out in anger -31%
Gossiping – 28%
Lying -28%
Neglecting family -26%
Overeating or mishandling money -20%

Reading your Bible.. truth engagement also produces more peace and joy in a person’s life, by reducing the frequency of various emotional struggles.

Receiving, reflecting on, and responding to God’s Word four or more times a week decreases a person’s odds of struggling with these issues:

Feeling bitter -40%
Thinking destructively about self or others -32%
Feeling like they have to hide what they do or feel -32%
Having difficulty forgiving others -31%
Feeling discouraged -31%
Experiencing loneliness – 30%
Overeating or mishandling food -20%
Having difficulty forgiving oneself -26%
Thinking unkindly about others -18%
Experiencing fear or anxiety -14%

What are the monthly struggles of believers who only go to church to hear the word monthly? Enlarge this, zoom in on (click here). BTW Thank you for the stats. Listen Fred. Listen well Mildred. Listen li'l Buckeroo, among born again Christians, who are engaging Scripture most days of the week strongly predicts a more proactive faith.
"Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once BELONGED
Get back, get back.
Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back Jojo. Go HOME
Get back, get back." ~ the Beatles

Specifically, controlling for age, gender, church attendance, and prayer practices, the person engaged in the Bible has significantly higher odds of…
Giving financially to a church +416%
Memorizing Scripture +407%
Biblically Discipling other Believers +231%
Sharing their faith with others +228%
Giving financially to causes other than their church +218%
I think of our lives here in terms of a dot and a line. Sure, thus signifying two phases. Our present life on earth is the dot. It begins. It ends. Believers can make an impact, but it’s brief.
However, from the dot, a line extends that goes on forever. That line is eternity, which Christians will spend in heaven what's the Living Word of God. Right now we’re living here in the dot. But ask.. what am I really living for while here? The shortsighted person lives for self -- the dot. The person with perspective lives for the line.
Purpose to.. know the word well, and make Him well known.
Those who engage with the Word, the Scriptures four or more days per week have significantly lower odds of…
Feeling spiritually stagnant -60%
Feeling like they can’t please God -44%
