Is it hard to know who should be listened to? Is discernment so hard?

Christian belief is by no means monolithic. There are hundreds of church movements, dead denominations, good creeds, and statements of faith to choose from. There are spiritually sick churches led by spiritually sick people, and healthy Bible teaching churches too.

We want what is 100% true not partly.. and some just seem to mix the truth with error, with spiritual arsenic.

How do we know what is true, what is only half-true, and what is false? Some say, "Forget doctrine…just love one another." Clearly, we need guidance to help us sort out what to believe. Go to God via Christ. And his Bible is a great place to meet up with Him.. yes, prayerfully go there for clear guidance.
Not to pick on the Roman org alone or on any one people group per se.. but I just saw this in the news recently. Made me think about how great God's love and justice are. So fair and holy is He. So worthy to be worshiped.

”Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15
My pastor Chuck Smith Sr. would often warn us with a comment like, "Most of what a false teacher teaches people is true, but it's the ten percent or so of arsenic that'll get ya. Yeah, that's what's concerning."

Face it, we'd be crazy to want fake news mixed in with the Good News that's real, but some people really love to mix in the truth with poisonous error. Sure, and more people swallow it down that way.

Then we wonder why there are so many sickos out there.

"As soon as night had fallen, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true. As a result, many of them believed.." Acts 17:10-12a

So many wolves in sheep’s clothing. So SO many false teachers out there... not merely with the Roman organization alone. Who will you follow? I say follow the Word of God -- Jesus Christ. He'll never let you down.

In a time when people won’t endure sound doctrine, it’s no great surprise to see em.. so many false prophets in the news and on the airwaves. Television: it sells em .. sells people what they want to buy. Some programmers use it to sell false doctrines and millions are eating it up. Listen, a discerning born again believer can and must separate the truth from the error when listening to any so called teacher.
