F4S: January 2018

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Got ears to hear and eyes to see? Got a moment to draw apart.. to wait on the Lord? You probably will this week.

Should we like.. keep the Good News of God's salvation to ourselves until we each are perfect? Nope, cuz there'll be none to win to Christ in heaven.

We indeed want to appropriate God's power to grow while here -- to walk it and talk it. Yep, it is our duty, believer, to go tell others about how God wants a relationship with all of us ..here while we can. Pray and decide to go tactfully share the Good News today! Obedience will help with that perfecting.

You might be watching the Super Bowl right now and not see this until Monday. That's cool. I'm with some friends (with half my voice back now after that wicked flu..) who are playing the game in the background. Not really feelin' so NFL motivated personally this year, but last time I checked the screen the Eagles were leading 15 to 3.

Remember, when you get a chance this week, draw apart to seek, to hear from and to wait on the Lord. He will indeed inspire you and meet all of your needs. He promised to. Yes, be encouraged to rengage in ministry first upwards and then outwards. I want you and others totally blessed.

Jesus said, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
We seek Jesus cuz we love Him and want closeness with Christ. We want to know and worship Him. We want to bless Him most and do His will as well. You already know that as you and I biblically grow closer to the Word of God, Jesus opens our eyes to see more and more of His awesome presence all around you/us daily. You know He's never been lazy, distracted or indifferent regarding blessing you -- regarding His great plan for you. He’s working diligently and said He’ll never leave you or forsake you. God is transforming us into the image of His dear Son..yep, in His good will.
How priceless, how rad-valuable is God’s unfailing Love you-ward! How wonderful it is spending time alone with Him. What motivates us more? I can't think of anything can you?
In fact as you pause and make time to wait with the Lord in His word, He will refresh you -- He'll work for you ...while you wait.
The Bible says, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Let's be all in. He's been all in for us -- sure Christ has, just look at the Cross. Let's draw even closer in 2018. Come to Jesus again and again when you are hurtin’ or in need, and listen He will share your pain. With the same comfort we receive from Him we can give this comfort away.
Many get mad at God, and refuse to wait. They run from Him and from His healthy Christian church when they have problems or hurt inside. You've seen them and talked with them. Me too. But let's set an example and do the opposite. Run in the right direction. Be quick to go to God.
Jesus knows your address and He can still comfort or heal people. He can touch you and others through you! He hasn't changed not even a smidgen. He's so there for you today!
God sees you and those waiting for the Gospel that He can use you to reach. You know His promises are still true. You know His Great Commission is still the greatest mission! Others are waiting to hear about Jesus. He loves you and them so much He can't take His eyes off of us. He intercedes for us and tell us to go tell. So what are we waiting for. It's a new week with new life!

Waiting doesn't have to be boring. Can you think of a person you really wouldn’t mind waitin’ with? I’m sure you could. Doesn’t have to be in vain.

Wat?... apple of the eye?

What does it mean to be the apple of God’s eye?

Several verses in the Bible mention “the apple of the eye.” This ancient metaphor is a reference to the “pupil” of the eye, which is exactly how some Bible translations render it. Here are three Old Testament uses of the phrase the apple of the eye:

The wise father says to his son, “Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye” (Proverbs 7:2).
The psalmist prays, “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings” (Psalm 17:8).

And in Deuteronomy 32:10 Moses relates a poetic description of God’s care for Israel: “In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye.”

At the risk of getting a little wonky or word-nerdy, let’s look at some of the Hebrew behind the phrase. The “apple” in the apple of the eye is a translation of the Hebrew word for “apple,” ishon, which is related to the word ish, meaning “man.” Etymologically, the ishon of the eye is “the little man of the eye.” Have you ever looked someone in the eye and seen your own reflection in their pupil? That’s the “little man,” right in the center of the eye.

The apple of one’s eye is a very sensitive place and therefore very protected. Think about your own eye for a moment. What happens if something flies in it or toward it? Your eyelids reflexively close, your head turns, and your hands position themselves to ward off the threat. Our eyesight is valuable, and our body naturally protects that vulnerable spot to prevent injury.

So, the instruction in Proverbs 7:2 is to hold godly wisdom in high regard as the valuable thing it is. The prayer in Psalm 17:8 is for God to keep guard over us as He would the pupil of His own eye. And the description of God’s care for His people in Deuteronomy 32:10 emphasizes Israel’s vulnerability and God’s tender, loving affection. God provided complete protection; His people were a priority. In the “howling wilderness,” God provided manna for them to eat, water from a rock, and safety from their enemies. His care was as automatic as if He were guarding the center of His eye from harm. What a loving God we serve.

God held the Israelites as the apple of His eye, rebellious and stiff-necked though they were in the wilderness. Being the apple of His eye, they were most cherished. And God’s care for His people has not diminished with time. He holds His children close, and He can protect us as easily as our eyelids protect our pupils. He does this because He loves us in Christ. He has a parental, protective love for us, and the biblical descriptions of His love are eye-opening, to say the least.

Not sure if he ever did any carpentry work cuz there's no verse on that (probably did..), but we know Jesus served. Worked hard and smart with blessing others in mind.

All could hang a U-ie if they each decided to. Good for any. "Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God." 3/8

Have you all alone, or with some help kinda messed things up a bit? Have you watched your Country also do that? There's hope in the Word of God.

Get your own, dude. It's just better for ya to get your own. Now is good.

You've tried not to, but you do have some. Some real enemies.

This 1.) world system that tells ya to do what it tells ya to do, your 2.) old fleshly nature that also demands and seems to stay in total agreement with the former -- this world. And 3.) Mr. Lu-Cifer with his creepy fallen angelic dweebs (now remember, only a third of them rebelled/fell). Those are your real enemies, Buckeroo. Yeah, more so than the haters (angry people) who decide to become your enemy.

Pain, who has time for it? Suffering, testings and trials, who has patience for any of that?

Are you hurtin’ today?
Sorry ‘bout that. Hate that! I do, need some prayer (msg me and I will for you)? Listen, we don’t seek for it, we don’t want to cause it, we never really want it for ourselves, but in Christ when He allows it into our lives “...suffering can actually lead to greater witness, to a greater ministry and to a greater glory.”

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:5

Saints and sinners do suffer here. Duh. Why should sinners suffer and saved sinners not suffer here? Christians suffer differently, and God uses this to point others to the One who can easily comfort people. Yup, to the Lord and He sometimes allows the suffering now.
If you are seeking to do what’s right and even elevate others from their pain and problems here, then you will suffer during this life. Not in the next.. later away in heaven or in the millennium back here on earth.

With other sinners and being myself a sinner, it’s gunna happen. “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” 1 Peter 2:21

Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.”

I'm in town, yup fairly local this week. And enjoying it.

Yup, a local. This week.. I’m fairly local and hangin' around with the locals. I’ve seen the streets you’re walking down. I’m here and content, but never mind bein’ sent.. instead of just went. Like so many, just went and without a penny. Too much is at stake, it can make one shake.

Kurt, what have I musing on this week? Just a lot of random good thoughts.

Not though dreams, feelings or visions so much, but simply reading and or hearing the Bible – that’s the primary way God speaks to people today. #aLoveLtr2believers

Why not live in it daily to clearly hear what He has to say to you. Live in the Lord, He loves you.

Pain doesn’t make people change, but it sometimes makes it easier for people to change.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3
Are you hurting today? Got a disease or sickness? Look to Jesus.

Many talk about going to a higher level of influence.
So what happens when you treat others better than they treat you?
A higher level of impact happens.

Personally, I like practical kindness and uplifting encouraging words better than other types of alleged kindnesses. How ‘bout you?
With some Help individuals can get good. Goals can be good, have some.

Growth is better than goals.

Prayerfully applying the Word of God, go turn good goals into consistent growth.. on multiple levels grow and simply live up to your full potential.

Healthy in spirit > Sickly in spirit

“You are good and do good; Teach me Your statutes.” Psalm 119:68
What should move you and me? People in need – especially the weak and vulnerable. In America, we’ve been living with Roe verses Wade for 45 years now, and approximately 60 million preborn people (babies) have literally been lost their lives as a result. Stronger one took their lives and didn’t give them a choice. Let’s unify, yeah join together, all across this nation, in total solidarity with our brothers and sisters takin’ a stand against such murders. It’s the right thing to do.
The First Sitting US President ever ..to Address "The March for Life" against Abortion Today in Washington DC. Why? Cuz real "love ..it always protects".

Why did God the Father send His Son?
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:17
It ain’t about finding people to condemn to God the Father. It’s about the Solution (Jesus); it’s about loving, saving and helping people in need.
“In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things, charity." ~ Augustine
Don’t need to elevate non-essentials to the level of essentials and then divide over em. Why do that?.. sound kinda religious to me.

"Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive." — C.S. Lewis
Don’t need to elevate non-essentials to the level of essentials and then divide over em. Why do that?
The Bible being the authoritative Word of God.. sinless Jesus Christ being the only way to the Father.. and salvation coming through Christ and Christ alone.
Those are essentials. Our unity as believers is to be around Him and essentials. Sure, cuz too many try to make it be around others things (Read more on this…).
Who needs dead rituals and junk?
“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.” Romans 11:6
Efforts in earnin’ it.. done with all that.
Free grace, new Friend!
Don’t mean some kind of strange energy-light. No, no.
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” ~ John 1:4
The Light ..this pure Person.. has come into the world, but weirdest thing.. people loved darkness more than Him and his holy light. It was and is because the deeds were evil.
And what's up with using that hashtag.. #Fish4peeps Kurt?
I like to remind people of a most important secondary ministry that get's overlooked.
Well, the Great Commission was given to all believers – fishin’ to catch men, women, boys and girls to #Christ.
And who was left out among us regarding this? None. Nada. No one is excused from this.
You know there are some called to be evangelists, but all are called to go evangelize. No need to ever be pushy with that, but there should be a sense of urgency about you. You and I love our friends and family members!
You can do this.. go share your faith with boldness!
Paul spoke to Timothy about it.. “the glorious #Gospel of the blessed God which was committed to [his] trust” (1 Timothy 1:11).

Just passed an old friend in the back hall in Plano, GL 65 now and not letting up at all. We'll be with him again on Tuesday Jan 23, 18 in Cowboy Stadium for the kick off so to speak. Man, I pray God'll use him and his HarvestAmerica.com team to out-do what we saw happen last time there.
What draws people to be friends is that they see the same truth. They share it. ~ C.S. Lewis
Some people add infinite weight to their words by wisely living the good principles that they teach.
Pray or praise, I like the options.

Both can be a form of pure worship to the Lord.

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.” James 5:13

Be encouraged to pray earnestly instead of worry. Yeah, stop it, no mo worry Bobby Buzzkill and Doneeka Downer.

Attach the right address. Some don’t.
Prayer is not to inform God ..or command.
Prayer is to ask and INVITE God!
Prayin’ (the daily connection and relationship) is liked more than merely sayin’ your prayers.
Pray. Enter that rest! No, not all stressed. Be blessed. No worries mates!
