Take the right risks--real smart!

Yesterday I was teaching an enthusiastic group at Prestonwood in Plano and was talking about joyously reaching out worldwide with all the right motives. I was talking about first investing some time in praying for others, for biblical revival and spiritual awakening. Can you think of what this world needs more than that? Christian mission efforts can be pretty risky–but hey, if you and I obey the Lord.. it’s always, Always, ALWAYS a smart risk to take! Yes, always–we can trust God’s word daily directing us. He said He’d never ever bail out–never leave us or forsake us.

Risk.. that word alone to many people has kind of a negative feel to it, but that’s not always the case. Risks can be so good at times. I know many people have been been burned before with risk-taking. You know there are wise risks and unwise risks. I dare you to inquire of the Lord first and then to take the good risks He leads you to take!

There are plenty of times when taking risks can be a good thing. A more biblical way of talking about risk is using the phrase “to step out in faith.” It is something that can really change someone. When you take a risk for the Lord, it means you are going out of your way to obey God’s word.

Wise or Positive Risks…

Proverbs 3:5, 6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
2 Kings 7:3-11 a must check out kinda passage.. “Why sit we here until we die?If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die here.  Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.”
Numbers 13:30 “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’"
Joshua 14:12 A book about wise risk-taking. Check it out, in faith Caleb said,“Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.“
Matthew 6:34 "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Mark 8:34, 35 “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
Yes, as the Lord leads you…
Mark 16:13-16 says, “Later as they were eating, Jesus appeared to the eleven and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned..’”
Romans 8:31 “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Unwise or Negative Risks…

Psalm 131:1 This is a prayer about risk-taking. I got this job offer once. I would have have hanging..literally from iron bars hundreds of feet in the air to do it. After praying about it, I was ready to go for it paid a whole lot, but I felt like the Lord told me No Kurt, I don’t want you doing this one. I hope I heard right. Anyway, it says, “Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.”
Proverbs 3:7 “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”
Matthew 6:26, 27 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” Worry, passivity, procrastination–too risky.
Mark 8:36, 37 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Why go after the whole world and be left with hands full of ashes?
Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” Get right in the light, so you won’t be left outside in the dark. Today..now.. is better than tomorrow. Now.

Too many I meet are fatalistic or distracted. Too many have lost hope. But we can rejoice in a living hope and over every little victory. We can trust Christ with His church and continue to fight right.. in the light, and in faith for His glory!

"The church‬ is a colony of heaven in a country of death." ~ Eugene Peterson

Be encouraged today to be apart of the Kingdom of light, and life. Be blessed to be apart of the Church, to be greatly loved by the very King of life, the Chief Shepherd of the flock.

"The True Church can never fail. For it is based upon a rock." – T.S. Eliot

"And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church.." Ephesians 1:22

"..not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Hebrews 10:25

"Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church; it is a goodly Christian weapon." – Martin Luther

It's fun to study His Book for they contain words of life.. the Bible. It's the word of God--powerful to change lives.

It's is so edifying and encouraging, a Book like none other.

My wife Liney... we both have ...a dear Christian friend younger than us in her 50s who has been dying of Cancer. Please pray for Nita who has known Liney since they were both in Kindergarten together.. and also pray for her husband, Mike Murphy. Nita has been in a lot of pain.

Been getting ready to teach in Dallas Texas tomorrow. I pray that the people there will be uplifted and challenged... will be practically helped, inspired, motivated and blessed in the Lord.

Lord, together we will look to You alone for biblical revival in Your Church here, and for great awakening in our nation. Don't want to strive or fight in the flesh. We do want to reach out to those of other Lands as well who have been displaced or even been abandoned in their homeland. Thank you for liberty. We don't care how or who you opt to use for this awakening really. Have Your way as You like. Would like to be involved with You however where we can--please pour out Your Spirit again! Please use us in some way that you deem fitting.. as we exalt the Name above every other Name--Jesus! Thank you God. In Jesus' Name we ask. Amen!

Do watch and earnestly pray. Do you feel a sense of urgency when you intercede for lost people? Clearly spreading the Gospel in the love of Christ is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than every other good or great cause that we believers may feel emotional about. Our time here is so limited.

"While it is daytime, we must do the work of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." ~ Jesus

You can be changed and God can use you to change others. You can fish for peeps with JOY, and be used of Him to reel in others that seek to be, and need to be caught by the Fisherman!

I don't care what your parents did, you did, your kids did, your uncle did, or your friends did. I don't even care where you've been or who you've been hanging with. You can be changed if you want to be.. even if you've tried to change yourself multiple times via sheer willpower and it didn't work. God can change you. ‪#‎DareToBelieve‬ facebook.com/shareJesus

How are you and how’s your Father’s Day? You’re not alone dads. What kind of Father is God? He's a good good Father... it's who He is.

Happy Father's Day to the Fathers! I hope that your day and weekend are going really well. Guess what.. your heavenly Abba Father God really loves you today even if no one else here does. And He is 100%, all the way perfectly good! Volkommen!..-you can know Him in a personal way today!

He has a lot in mind for you and can use you for His glory--you know this! But what is it that I like about Him so much. I love how He balances perfect love and discipline, courtesy and control, grace and solid merciful-truth. So just and fair--all that JOY gives me a happy life in His direct will. And it can be that way for you if you dare to believe!

Physiologists tell us that so many people have a strong fatherhood-hunger cuz they've had such bad bad fathers. It's a perfect-love hunger.

But Orlando Kurt? How could God be good after allowing all that to happen? Let me tell you it breaks God's heart. Those were not His choices that were made to destroy down there. Hey, didn't He warn us in advance about people and systems like that, and what can come from such? Sure.

"Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, carrying out His work." John 14:9-10

How Good? Listen; what God would choose for you is exactly what you would choose for yourself if you always had the good sense to see it as it really is. But I've personally been such an erroring, finite father with whacked judgment and blown it with wrong-doin's and weird balance at times.

"Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin."  Romans 4:7-8 nkjv

"Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." 1 John 3:1

1.) The Father's Presence is Good!

"And He said, 'My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest."  Exodus 33:14

"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?"  Psalm 139:7

"..for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we also are His children.'"  Acts 17:28

"You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever." Psalm 16:11

2.) The Father's Plan is Good!

"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Proverbs 19:21

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

3.) The Father's Provision is Good!

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow."  James 1:17

"Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!"  Matthew 7:9-11

Our Lord just loves to bless His Children, meeting all their needs instead of greeds. "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly." Psalm 84:11

"He who did not spare His own Son but gave up Him for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?" Romans 8:32

4.) The Father's Providence is Good!

"And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."  Romans 8:28

5.) The Father's Power is Good!

And it is give for a reason; for reaching others with the Gospel. It's not just so we can enjoy the feeling of it, or get something for ourselves alone out of it.

"Jesus replied, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8  Facebook.com/shareJesus

We can lead the thirsty to the living water, but we can't make em drink. Time is short, have a sense of urgency. Pray earnestly. We can lead em to Christ even if they can't yet see the incredible beauty. Hear em. Preach the word non-preachy.

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and sober, so you can pray. Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:7

The people of Noah's time had opportunity to turn away from their sin and go to God ..as Noah slowly obeyed building that YUGE ark. Man, he wished all would take heed to the truth he was telling them about what was ahead. We can't make em enter safety. Today Jesus Christ is the ultimate solution and ark of safety so to speak.

Can pray, warn, persuade, explain, plead with, hear, motivate, reason with, hook with good bait, reel in and encourage some more. Sad.. some preferred to swim.

"The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 knowGod.org

Be still and enter His rest. Sure, He holds the universe! Be still.. kinda chill with Him.. be attentive, be strong in Him.. take heart for the Lord fights for us. Not cold or luke, but hot not a snot. He will never abandon you.. never ever leave us. Fear not.. not even a little.. God is with So us. The truth is a sword, the battle is the Lord's–He ain't bored ..but is faithful to deliver.. and mighty save! So be brave! Give Him what you crave.

Sunday's comin'. Am preparing today to teach from Daniel. Lord, it's about You and I pray that all who hear the Scriptures will be encouraged and grow spiritually. I feel enthusiastic. Please bless and minister to each one in Jesus' Name. Thanks! ‪#‎enjoyable‬ ‪#‎edifying‬

Why should each of us study Bible Prophecy by prayerfully first gettin' in the Bible instead of other books? It sure beats studying other books "of prophecy."

Studying Bible Prophecy directly, Christian ..not what some whacko money-grubbin' prophecy TV or say Podcast teacher says.. it radically motivates us to biblically live more Godly lives.

It unlocks the mystery of history.

The Bible predicts the future here with 100% accuracy. Always has, and while people are here.. always will. Not hit and miss predicts it.

Have you suffered some loss and are still really feelin' it? What do your own ears hear your mouth and thoughts dwell on the most?

Been workin' on different projects with some great guys, but one of them is struggling and lonely as a single again and wants to talk about his disloyal ex non-stop. The men don't really want to hear it anymore (you know how we can be).

I told him to limit his thoughts and conversation about her, cuz she's history now out there in the world with her new boyfriend. Snap out of it–God hasn't and won't ditch you. He's a believer, so I gave him some passages to meditate upon that I know will help him. Why rehearse and meditate upon the problem rather than the Solution. That was then and this is now. Forgetting what lies behind let's press on going forward with the Lord.

"Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God." Psalm 50:23

"To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in His Beloved." Ephesians 1:6

Have you suffered loss or some rejection? So sorry about that. It's really too early to give up and quit. Your God–your first love relationship–won't bail out on you. I dare you to believe again, to hope again.

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3

"With Your counsel You will guide me, And afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desirenothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:24-26

God is love, He has a good plan of grace and of selfless-agape-love regarding you. He will comfort you. Don't fret, Romans 8:28 and 29 are still in the Bible! He wasn't surprised or caught off guard by what happened to you, and fear of always remaining single or lacking sure ain't of God. Brush it off Buckeroo, He can give you lasting peace and joy again.

"Such Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear." 1 John 4:18

When others walk out, He walks in, "to comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified." Isaiah 61:2-3

…"Everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall recieve gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." Isaiah 51:11 Read more...

Is it a bit more positive than negative or the opposite?

Is it more about the things we're against, than the things we are for as we the Church are known for?  Is it (I mean biblical, a.k.a., real Christianity) more about don't do that!.. or is it more let's gladly go do that?  I think it's more about vertical relationship and as an outgrowth the later--yes, rejoice as we obey the Lord.
Yeah that, and do that (when it ain't sin according to the word–a good test for all activities), and dat too can be included. Enjoy Christ, know Him well. Go for it ..as unto Him.
He.. Jesus the Lord leads us. He works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. In that order, so if you don't want to go serve, experience, or help in that capacity. Then don't. Directed ministry is far better than any other type. And it pleases Him when you find out His direct will and gladly of your own volition choose that.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23

Grow and go. No time to get inverted, weak, passive, fearful, egotistical or selfish.
“Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” Hebrews 13:1
Be wise, protect others and build them up in the Christian faith. It’s a family thang. God loves them all and want more in His family! Your friends etc.

God told us to go tell, but so many stayed here..all silent. And now for various reasons good and bad, they are coming here.. to hear. Let's help, let's wisely serve, and let's tell them the Good News of Jesus!

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
"For you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard." Acts 22:15
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.." Matthew 28:19
You can still be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove without having a hard heart inside.
I want to reiterate; I really want to emphasize love for the Lost. exhibiting that consistently for the glory of the Lord.
I want you to know that no matter what my feed gives emphasis to these daya.. I’m praying and thinking about solving current needs here. And the people’s biggest need for forgiveness. Yes for Salvation with a capital S. No worries that’s a Bible term.
The Great Commission of Jesus is all about Christ living as Lord in us Christian believers. It’s about us spreading His Gospel from a motivation of real love, about us living it right, telling it right, exampling it day in and day out by the power of the Spirit.
What young people can’t stand today the most.. is hypocrisy in the adults around them, so we really need to pray with zeal and earnestness that we can be empowered to live the life. Young people you need to do that as well–appropriate resurrection power 24, 7 365!
Many Americans simply don’t do that. And dead religion isn’t going to address the real needs of this nation–it never has and never will.
Now God in His sovereignty has allowed us to choose incompetent leaders along the way.. and multiple times over with really horrible policies that they’ve enacted to our hurt. Many don't even recognize this. Not to get all political here cuz you understand that both parties have horribly failed us in the USA.
Listen… you can tell from my feed in Twitter and Facebook or wherever else that I’m against those dumb policies of globalism, amnesty, open borders for illegals etc… cuz it’s all dangerous and not helpful for the citizens here. Duh!
But on the other side of that coin in relation to the Church of Jesus Christ and our Global mission..I want all people to get saved. Our time is so limited there must be an urgency! God loves you YUGE and them too– He demonstrated His great love on the Cross at Calvary. I want to be involved with that and I want you involved with that too.. His way!
You know that the unregenerate.. that lost people with different motives are coming within our borders every month and that this is encouraged by our leadership. Well God has allowed this to happen and we need to reach as many as possible with the Gospel. We won’t care about them enough to tell them if we never earnestly pray for them. I want them protected as well, and I want to see the deceived ones led to Jesus where the blinders will be taken away.
I challenge you; I exhort and implore you to share your faith in Jesus with all that you come in contact with.  Let’s make the best of this situation for the kingdom of God while we can. We can serve and show them the love of Jesus today.
Yes, we can be against dumb leftist and GOPe policies that hurt this country, but we can still retain a soft sensitive heart towards those who are open to hearing the truth.
Bible tells us to go ye therefore into all the world and make disciples of all Nations and I say we start by going across the Boulevard or by crossing our residential street.
That’s where we’re going to find J1 Nationals of other Lands etc.
I say we do what we can and start where we are to make our nations, cities, towns, businesses, and schools safer places for the citizens.. for the innocent etc. But let’s also be wise witnesses to those that God has allowed to come here due to our poor leadership that we actually chose to lead us.
God is bringing Born Again missionaries here into this Land as well because largely we have strayed from God’s Word. I'm glad about that, but not about the Cults trying to spread their weirdness too.
Have soundness in Jesus first--that’s what cross cultural evangelism and the Great Commission of real Christianity is all about.. spreading Christ's Good News from the Bible across the neighborhood streets, and across borders.. legally ..and wherever the Lord may lead you to do that ..righteously and legally for His glory alone.
