How often do you look for or run into poor people who are open to God changin' both them and the circumstances around em?

Just had a guy ask me about poverty.  Perhaps he is livin’ uber-poor.  Man, hope not, but not sure.
Will ask. He wasn't homeless, did have his home to sleep in. I had a few minutes to respond. I have wondered why some people seem to lack, seem to be living so poor. I hate to see others suffer with any kind of need. You do too I'm sure.

Perhaps some live in areas of the country where there is still no work for them or for anyone. Maybe, God wants them to move and start looking for employment again. I've seen so many people from my home State of California relocate here in Dallas lately, just cuz they found work here. I'm sure their flesh didn't feel like doing that.

Perhaps with some people.. it’s that they do not really believe God’s Bible promises regarding this area, and they are not obedient to God in relationship with Christ ..or know Him but don't follow quickly when He directs them.

You know there are all kinds of word-faith (so called Christian) preachers and cultists and other motivational teachers out there ..saying that you can use God to gain big bucks.. that you can use, your inner energy, your positive confession, the Bible even ..to get rich. Don’t listen to them. Read the Bible, listen to God, and go to a healthy church with a saved, spiritual, growing pastor who wants to live holy ..instead.

God’s Bible promises are offered to all and we each person could choose to take hold of em by faith, sure, to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior first and to obey Him to their own benefit. He is indeed our Savior and Provider still. The Good Shepherd who cares for His flock. False teachers fleece the flock, but true ones feed the flock. If we truly believe in God and in His promises, we will lack no good thing. Simple as that. We will have all that we really need to have in order to go do His will in this world. See: Psalm 23:1 for God tells us that if the Lord is truly our Shepherd, and with Him leading us ..we will not lack. Therefore, let’s know Him on His terms, stay in touch with God through Christ, and let Jesus daily lead.
But Kurt, It Seems Like I Have Tried Every Honest Way to Earn Money and Nothing Seems to Workout For Me.  What Am I Doing Wrong?

Who is better equipped to take on the challenges of this world? A sheep with his or her diligent good shepherd? He's not Baaaaad! Or a young lion? Roooar! The sheep with a good shepherd will fair better than a young lion lacking experience. Many young lions have lacked before. They grow weak for a time and suffer hunger in this sin-cursed world. Sad. They and their dads can wait pretty long for mom to go grab lunch. Not well cared for sheep--their needs are met. See Psalm 34:10 which illustrates the advantages of relying of God by faith versus relying on ourselves and what we know.

People often are quick to look for immediate comfort and for solutions to problems that will satisfy needs, but sometime the solutions they grasp hold of or how they go apply God’s word to fix the issue do not really line up with the Word of God.

Daily we see people in the world with financial needs who put all of their faith in winning the lottery, in get-rich schemes, and in even cheating others. They don’t have full disclosure when selling something. All of these actions do not line up with the Word of God, will not be blessed, and will not leave those people satisfied.

Perhaps the man who asked me wasn't doin’ anything wrong at all. We all could suffer due to the dumb choices and sins of others. And God can help us. Go see: Proverbs 13:25 which tells us that the righteous shall be satisfied, but the wicked shall want.

What Does the Bible Tell Us About Hard Work And Earning Money?

It tells us to do this in a righteous way. He will lead. The Bible tells us to be wisely diligent in our work. It tells us on the other hand that those who are slack in what they do will become poor.

Some people really can’t work though, yet God can still provide for them. See Proverbs 10:4. God advises us that the diligent will be blessed and the selfishly lazy will become poor.

I don’t think that God wants people living to get rich by using the Bible.. or think that He wants His kids to suffer so long as poor people. He has solutions cuz He is the ultimate Solution.

Kurt, don’t we glorify God by choosing to suffer and be poor? Nope. I was taught that. Religion falsely teaches that jive, not God, though Christians will suffer and turn to God for comfort in that. Can I be a Spirit-filled Christian and also be prosperous in my business? Sure you can. Many are.. on multiple levels. God delights to bless them as they walk with Him.

“..as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4 nkjv

God loves us and desires to bless us. If we are in right standing with Him through faith in Jesus, He will also bless us through the good work of our hands. Just as God promised the His people the Jews, yes, his chosen people, he will also provide financial blessings to those who obey and trust in Him.. those who work diligently in their chosen profession that He led them into. See Deuteronomy 30:9 which tells us that God promises that the work of our hands will be blessed.

“Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.”  Romans 12:13 msg

It’s kinda hard to feel like telling our friends about the Lord if we haven’t obeyed Him and are living with the consequences from that, but it’s easy to.. even if we aren’t rich with money when we have His peace and joy inside. Do you need to confess and repent of unbelief? Hey, what are you waiting for? God loves you and will quickly forgive you. He is there for you to help you today. facebook.com/shareJesus

"The fellow that has no money is poor. The fellow that has nothing but money is poorer still." — Billy Sunday

1 John 3:17-18 says “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

"Philanthropy is commendable, but it must not cause the philanthropist to overlook the circumstances...which make philanthropy necessary." — Martin Luther King, Jr.

There are so many more words than these cuz God really cares for people, but when you get time go check these Bible verses out in their context…

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.  Proverbs 19:17

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’  Deuteronomy 15:11

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 5:3

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy.  Luke 12:33

Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.  Proverbs 14:31

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.  Matthew 6:24Also see
