Hole-y in one, hole-y in one, hole-y in one.. please don't tell me you plan to only worship God out in the beauty of His nature.. out on the Golf course tomorrow.
God has a place for you in His Family! You can golf or go fishing for fish anytime. Did you know that 63 percent of the general U.S. population (that's two-thirds of all Americans) plan to observe Easter by attending a local church in their area (see this interesting poll).
How cool is that? Way cool, I would say.
I would strongly encourage you to bring your friends and family members to a healthy Bible teaching, Christ exalting church! Don't do it to make them or your kids more holy, so you yourself can lay out the rest of the year feeling like you did you fatherly duty. Why have a do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do attitude?
Do it for the Lord, to worship and learn of Christ. Do it expecting Jesus to change you from the inside out. Be a good example for your family and friends spiritually! They all need you to be one. Pray for each of them. Then call your buddies today! Maybe invite them to breakfast or to coffee with you ..you know, so they can be ready on time. Then go by and pick them up.
Perhaps you don't feel like heading off to a stiff religious church or to a hyper-contemporary church. No Worries, God has one for you! It won't be perfect, but you will be able to find careing "Family" there. Do you ever wonder about what kind of church to invite people to, or to go to yourself?
You don't have to clean yourself up to go, try to clean your habits up first in order to come to Christ directly. Come just as you are.. not to stay as you are, but willing to be changed by Him. You also don't have to wait to become a real Christian first to start attending, or if you want to ..you can become a real Christian right now before you attend. God wants that to happen!
